The Student Assistance Program is a collaboration between the Red Hook Central School District and the Council on Addiction, Prevention, and Education, Inc. (CAPE). Adolescence can be a difficult and challenging time for both students and parents. Students face hard decisions as they adjust to the changing mental, physical and social aspects of the teen years. In addition to these changes, some students may end up utilizing unhealthy coping strategies dealing with the pressures they face daily.
Our program helps students recognize unhealthy coping strategies and offers support in developing healthy decision making. The Student Assistance Counselor is available to any student to help with peer conflict, relationship issues, family problems, academic concerns, and alcohol use/substance abuse.
