Red Hook welcomes new teachers, staff at orientation

A dozen new teachers, teaching assistants, counselors and library media specialists this week are learning more about the Red Hook Central School District and the tools at their disposal to support student success at the district’s new teacher orientation.
The two-day orientation is an opportunity for the new members of the Red Hook family to learn about various policies, support systems, technology resources and other departments, while meeting with existing employees across the district. Monday’s first session largely included an introduction to the IT department and communications tools like ParentSquare, to help keep families informed of what is going on within school buildings.
The group of 13 taking part in the orientation includes four new special education teachers, two Spanish teachers and two teaching assistants, among other roles.
While some of those at the orientation are joining the district for the first time, others have served different roles previously. For all, it was a good experience in preparation for the beginning of the proper school year next week!
